These beautiful sheep although a hardy breed really do appreciate some shelter when it’s really hot or when the weather turns windy and wet. A simple shelter can easily be made, given the choice they will usually seek shelter if its available. The sheep will be a lot happier with a little shelter.
These sheep are a primitive breed and although hardy, I do feed them a small amount of sheep mix twice a day, just to get them to come to me which helps when trying to move them from one place to another. They will often follow you with a little sheep mix in a bucket. The more time you spend with these sheep and get them used to you, the friendlier they become.
These sheep require good pasture and hay, I feed hay twice a day, more in the winter when there is less grass about.
Fresh water must always be available.
